I am founder and CEO of McKenzie Brown Consultancy Ltd. I am currently the Regional Chair for the Institute of Directors (IoD) covering the Central region of East and West Midlands. I manage 8 branch chairs to engage with members by assisting them with corporate governance for their business. The IoD was incorporated by royal charter in 1906. It’s mission statement compels the IoD to: Promote for the public benefit high levels of skill, knowledge, professional competence and integrity on the part of directors. I am a qualified lawyer with over 21 years of experience in the clinical negligence field. I have also managed a team of lawyers and support staff for over 12 years. Over my career, I have built a reputation for my deep knowledge of clinical negligence law and my commitment to exemplary client service. In 2020, I was honored to serve as president of the Birmingham Law Society, the first woman to hold this position in the society's 202-year history My proudest moment during my presidential term was to set up a diversity inclusion scheme to help students from underrepresented group access the legal profession.

In her own words

I partnered with 2 universities to provide a financial scholarship for 2 students to do their legal post-graduate course. These students are supported by 2 law firms who help them on their journey by providing mentoring by way of letter writing skills, interview techniques, presentation skills and CV writing skills. The scheme is now in its fourth year and is going from strength to strength. I have over 13 years’ experience as a Non-Executive Director and Trustee and love working with board members to achieve the best possible potential for business growth and strategy. I strive to achieve the best possible results for my clients while keeping their trust through clear, compassionate communication at every step. Outside of work, I am passionate about increasing diversity within businesses and opening doors for the next generation..
